Jim Blatzer, received his Bachelor’s in Physician Assistant degree from Midwestern in Downer’s Grove, IL. Jim is certified through NCCPA and is a certified examiner for the NRCME. Jim has an extensive background in both urgent care and occupational medicine. Jim excels in formulating treatment plans with various therapies for numerous pains including back and neck pain, musculo-skeletal disorders, extremity pain and chronic soft tissue pain. Jim is extremely passionate, outgoing and takes the time to truly understand what each patient is experiencing upon arrival at our clinic. Jim’s diverse background gives him the ability to approach patient care from multiple perspectives.
Chaley Shipley
RN – Executive Clinic Director
Chaley Shipley serves our patients as both an RN and our Executive Clinic Director. In this role, she provides advisory capacity to area employers regarding their occupational health needs when meeting OSHA compliance standards or in the implementation of other job site health and safety programs. In addition to managing the day-to-day operations, staff schedules and clinical processes for the SafeWorks Illinois and 217 Immediate Care clinical staff, Chaley also provides supervision over SafeWorks Illinois medical staff who work off-site, providing SafeWorks Illinois clients with their own outsourced, on-site medical services. Chaley also serves as our internal nurse case manager, providing this vital role for SafeWorks Illinois and 217 Immediate Care patients and employers, fast-tracking referrals and seamlessly transferring patients to other providers, rehabilitation services or diagnostic testing, as needed. This SafeWorks Illinois process helps employees and employers achieve rapid resolution of cases and aids in the restoration of function for an injured person. Shipley is also a certified Drug and Alcohol Testing Industry Association (DATIA) drug and alcohol collector trainer and holds a certificate in hearing conservation by the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation for her competency in fulfilling OSHA regulatory and best practice responsibilities in occupational hearing conservation programs. Her years of experience in the field have qualified her become a Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) after she passes her upcoming COHN certification exam sponsored by the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses (AAOHN). She will join a select club of well-qualified occupational health nurses as there are less than 5 COHNs in downstate Illinois.
Kevin Wilson
PA-C, MPAS, DFAAPA
PA-C Wilson brings the SafeWorks Illinois team nearly 30 years of experience as master’s level physician’s assistant in a variety of practice settings. He has worked in both urgent care and occupational medicine clinics over his career. In addition, he is a certified by the by the US Department of Transportation as an examiner of Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) drivers for the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME).
Wamaitha Sullivan
DNP, FNP-BC
Wamaitha Sullivan, DNP, FNP-BC brings 10 years of experience as an APRN in a variety of practice settings. In 2009, she earned her Master’s in Nursing at the University of Illinois, Chicago, (UIC). She is certified by the US Department of Transportation as an examiner of Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) drivers for the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME) A native of Kenya, Ms. Sullivan is well-known in the Champaign community as a nurse educator and community activist. She has worked at the Frances Nelson Health Center and is very involved with the Love (Free) Clinic in Champaign. She is currently employed at Gibson Area Hospital as well. Her passion for learning, giving, and teaching has earned her widespread recognition. In addition to Ms. Sullivan’s role as a clinical instructor for the UIC College of Nursing, she also serves as the Chair of Region 4 of the Illinois Society for Advanced Practice Nursing. ISAPN is a professional organization dedicated to promoting and advocating for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses. Ms. Sullivan also became a certified yoga teacher in May 2018. “Finding yoga has calmed my mind, cleared my focus, enhanced my outlook on life that ‘nothing is permanent’ and given me a positive outlook on life. I can see clearly the long journey I have taken for my wellness and I would like to expose other people to this goodness,” shared Ms. Sullivan.
Dr. David Fletcher

Dr. David Fletcher is the founder of SafeWorks Illinois. He recently expanded the practice to include immediate care/urgent care services. Offering another CHOICE to the Champaign-Urbana community was the driving force for opening 217 Immediate Care. Dr. Fletcher is highly-respected in the State of Illinois and nationally for his wealth of knowledge in the specialty of occupational and preventive medicine. Dr. Fletcher is at his best when sharing what he knows. He is an excellent clinician and enthusiast coach and mentor.

EXPERIENCE

Dr. Fletcher earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in December 1975. He earned his medical degree in November 1979 at Rush, School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois and a MPH at UC Berkeley Medical School in California. He served his residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington DC and Ft. Ord, Monterey, California. Dr. Fletcher is a certified Medical Review Officer (MRO) and Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) with vast experience in setting up drug testing programs and reviewing drug test results. He has provided occupational health services and consulting to companies of all sizes for over 35 years and has made numerous presentations on a variety of occupational topics at the regional, state and national levels.
